Eurostar + Travelski Night

You can combine a Eurostar to Paris with a Travelski Night train to reach the Tarentaise region of the French Alps.

Good news: after a gap of nearly 10 winters, there is a sleeper train running between Paris and Bourg-Saint-Maurice.

The service is a charter by French tour operator Travelski, and is called the Travelski Night Express.

The Travelski Night Express runs outbound from Paris Gare de Lyon on Friday nights, arriving the following morning in Bourg-Saint-Maurice. Then it departs the following Saturday evening, returning skiers to Paris Gare de Lyon on Sunday mornings.

The first outbound Travelski Night Express will depart on Friday, 19th December 2025, and the last outbound Travelski Night Express will depart on Friday, 20th March 2026.

The first inbound Travelski Night Express will depart on Saturday, 27th December 2025, and the last inbound Travelski Night Express will depart on Saturday, 28th March 2026.

To connect to the Travelski Night Express, UK-based skiers can take the Eurostar to Paris. Currently, the Eurostar and the Travelski Night Express have to be booked separately because Travelski doesn't offer a combined 'Eurostar + Travelski Night Express' ticket.

Rail-inclusive package - or train only

When Travelski launched the Travelski Night Express earlier in 2025, the service was only available as part of a train + transfer + accommodation + ski pass package. That restricted you to choosing only the accommodation that Travelski offers.

But that has changed: you can now book the Travelski Night Express as a train ticket only.

This is a very significant development. It means that you can travel with a combination of Eurostar to Paris and the Travelski Night Express to the Alps (these two trains booked separately), and choose whatever accommodation you like.

What's on board Travelski Night Express?

The TNE has space for 660 skiers in total. Like most sleeper trains, each couchette (sleeper compartment) has six berths (flat beds). You can share couchettes with skiers you don’t know, or you can book a couchette privately (paying for all six berths yourself, however many people you are). That way, if there are four or five of you and you want to pay more for privacy and extra space, you can do so. There is no first class accommodation on board.

Somewhat excitingly, the TNE also has a bar-restaurant carriage, serving drinks and a selection of hot and cold food for dinner and breakfast. As Travelski hasn’t published its menu yet, your options remain a mystery for the time being (of course, you can bring your own food and drink onboard in any case).

We haven't published any photos of the train in this guide, because the only ones that Travelski has provided are AI-generated photos, as far as we can tell.

Ski and snowboard carriage

Travelski’s website (translated from French) says:

“Although there is no carriage specifically dedicated to ski equipment, there is a suitable space under the lower berths in each cabin for your skis and snowboards.”

How much do Travelski Night Express tickets cost

If you book a train ticket only, and not Travelski's all-inclusive package with accommodation, ski pass, etc., how much will it cost?

We checked the Travelski website to see how much tickets cost on any given outbound date, for one adult sharing a six-berth couchette. The table below shows our results.

The prices below are for single (one-way) fares. A return is simply double the single fare. Children aged 13 and above pay the same price as an adult. Children under three travel for free (presumably without their own berth).

Date Adult Child (age 3–12)
19 Dec 2025 € 115 € 81
26 Dec 2025 € 115 € 81
02 Jan 2026 € 80 € 56
09 Jan 2026 € 80 € 56
16 Jan 2026 € 80 € 56
23 Jan 2026 € 80 € 56
30 Jan 2026 € 80 € 56
06 Feb 2026 € 115 € 81
13 Feb 2026 € 115 € 81
20 Feb 2026 € 115 € 81
27 Feb 2026 € 115 € 81
06 Mar 2026 € 80 € 56
13 Mar 2026 € 80 € 56
20 Mar 2026 € 80 € 56
27 Mar 2026 € 80 € 56

We don't know whether these prices will change. They seem fairly set, rather than being dynamic (i.e. changing algorithmically according to demand).

Travelski Night Express transfers

If you book a package with the Travelski Night Express, then a transfer will be included between the railway station and your accommodation.

Transfers are by coach or taxi (probably depending on how many travellers there are per destination).  Transfers take between 20 and 60 minutes approximately, depending on which resort village you are travelling to.

If you've book a train ticket only, then you'll need to book your transfer independently (as far as we know).

Using the Travelski Night Express website

This is the link to the Travelski Night Express website: https://www.travelski.com/travelski-night-express

Something to know that will save you frustration: the Travelski Night Express website is in French only. There is a little English flag button, but if you press that button, you will not get the information you need in English. Instead, you'll be transported to the UK version of the Travelski website: https://www.uk.travelski.com.

The UK Travelski website doesn't contain any information about the Travelski Night Express.

We hope that in the future Travelski also translates the Travelski Night Express information into English too.
