Mountain restaurants

Lunch on the mountain—as ever when skiing—is one of the great pleasures of a holiday in Méribel. Watch out if you end up in Courchevel in the middle of the day, as prices there can be high.

Our tip is to ski to La Tania with lunch in mind—go to Pub Le Ski Lodge (+33 4 79 08 81 49) at the bottom of the wonderful tree-lined Folyères. The terrace catches the sun, and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. Think hearty plates (burgers, salads) rather than haute cuisine. Le Rond Point (+33 4 79 00 37 51) is popular for lunch, as well as après-ski. Try L’Adray Telebar (+33 4 79 08 60 26) beside the Adret chair if you’re feeling flush, or Clos Bernard, near the Altiport, for a Savoyard cocotte in an idyllic forest setting.

New for winter 2026–27 too is Tipi on the Aigle red, serving delicious French classics in a warm, Amerindian-inspired ambience.

Restaurants in town

Le Refuge (+33 4 79 08 61 97) is a popular spot for lunch and dinner, and is reasonably priced. Similarly, for more simple, yet hearty Savoyard dishes at a relatively fair price, try Chalet Tonia or Le Rastro. More upmarket options include the Michelin-star L'Ekrin, the Italian-inspired Fifi, and the wine cellar of Partajo.

As you can probably tell by the name, the place for fondue in Méribel is La Fromagerie (+33 4 79 08 55 48). The ambience is traditional and lively, and there is a cheese shop upstairs. Booking is essential.

Après-ski and nightlife

Méribel is one of several French resorts with a Folie Douce, which is perfect for a 'pre-après-ski' on the mountain.

However, as the ski-lifts whirr to a halt and silence settles over the mountain, the party has probably already started at Le Rond Point. En Bord de Piste and Le Cafe del Mott are other big après-ski venues. Expect dancing on the tables in ski boots.

A bit later on, the party continues in Barometer and Sully's Bar, and then things get really messy. Expect big-name DJs and partying until 4 am.

If you prefer your evenings to be a bit quieter, Méribel-Mottaret may be a better option.
