The sleeper train, from French tour operator Travelski, is a dedicated overnight ski train with couchettes and a café-bar-restaurant on board.

In January 2026, I tried it out to see what it’s like. Spoiler alert: I really enjoyed the experience. The company that operates the train, Pegasus, have embraced the retro and the romance of rail travel. For me, the café-bar restaurant was a highlight, especially as you’re never sure if it’ll be a kiosk or full-blown carriage. Moreover, the overnight travel did indeed give me extra days on the slopes as part of my trip.

In its inaugural season, winter 202526, the Travelski Night Express ran between Paris and Bourg-Saint-Maurice. For winter 202627, the Travelski Night Express is launching a second route: Amsterdam-Brussels-Bourg-Saint-Maurice.

UK-based skiers can connect to these Travelski Night Express trains via a separately-booked Eurostar to either Paris or Brussels.

The first outbound Travelski Night Express will depart on Friday, 18th December 2026. The last outbound Travelski Night Express will depart on Friday, 26th March 2027.

The first inbound Travelski Night Express will depart on Saturday, 19th December 2026. The last inbound Travelski Night Express will depart on Saturday, 27th March 2027.

The from-Paris and from-Brussels services can be booked in two ways:

  1. as train-ticket-only – and you book whatever accommodation you like separately
  2. as a combined train + accommodation or train + accommodation + ski pass package from Travelski

Last winter, the punctuality rate of the trains was an impressive 95%. When I travelled on it myself, it arrived exactly on time, both ways.

On board, the trains departing from Paris Gare de Lyon have more than 660 berths. The trains departing from Amsterdam/Brussels have more than 400 berths.

The café-bar-restaurant, which was a very convivial place to be when I travelled in January, will offer new, enhanced menus to continue to improve the culinary experience on board.

As part of Compagnie des Alpes' commitments to reducing its carbon footprint, for winter 202627, all journeys will now be operated by electric locomotives.

You can see the timetables for the train in our guide to Eurostar + Travelski Night Express. I have also created a table of train pricing so you can see ticket prices for each date.

Yesterday, I checked the Travelski’s ticket prices for adults. It’s currently €99 - €125 one way, and for children aged 312 it’s €68 - €87 one way.  A return is twice the price of a single. Of course, travelling from the UK, you’ll need to factor in the cost of the Eurostar tickets as well.

Here's the blog about the experience I had.
