TGVs on sale for April

When TGVs went on sale in April, not all the direct ones went on sale immediately, which is a bit odd.

Something unexpected happened when TGV trains went on sale, on 28th January, for dates in April.

At first there was only one direct one, departing Paris 06:46, arriving Bourg-Saint-Maurice at 11:48.

That was the only direct TGV journey. All the other journeys were a TGV to Lyon-Part-Dieu station, and then a TER from there to Bourg-Saint-Maurice (or Moutiers, Aime-la-Plagne, or Landry, depending on your choice of ski resort in that region).

However, yesterday skier Adam Bristowe kindly emailed me to let me know that he's spotted, and booked, a new direct TGV that had appeared.

That was the TGV departing Paris 11:30, arriving Bourg-Saint-Maurice at 16:35.

It means you could leave London St Pancras on the 06:31 Eurostar, and connect to it with ease.

Odd that this TGV didn't show up until three days after trains were originally put on sale.

Which is annoying, as it makes it more difficult to make a decision about what to book at the outset.

It would be good if SNCF made it clear when this might happen, and why.
