Bus timetables in one place
When I first started travelling to ski resorts by train, one of the things that I found a bit time-consuming was the search for bus timetables.
It seemed that finding out about this last bit of the journey would feel a bit elusive.
In the years since then things have generally got better, in terms of provision of bus timetables, although in some cases it's still frustratingly difficult to find out what should be a simple bit of information.
The photo at the top of this blog was taken just after arriving in a snowy Val d'Isere, having taken the bus from Bourg St Maurice.
Buses are a great form of transfer if:
1. The bus stops close enough to your accommodation (if it doesn't, you might get the bus to the resort centre and then a taxi the last bit from there.
2. The timetable works with the arrival of your train - amazingly this is not always the case.
It does seem mad that in some cases in France, a TGV will arrive at a station that serves a ski resort and there is no bus programmed to meet that train.
In many other cases, the timetables are well co-ordinated.
This is the page on SnowCarbon with the bus timetables. Hope you find this useful.
We will continue to build this page and add new timetables for more resorts, as we find them.
