Avoriaz - ski resort overview

Avoriaz 1800 is the ultimate ski-in, ski-out village in an ideal position to access the Portes du Soleil circuit across the Franco-Swiss border. Unlike the majority of its 60s purpose-built rivals, the resort lucked into an innovative architectural blueprint, wherein every accommodation is slopeside. Nearly half a century later, high-rises with sharply angled roofs mirroring jagged rockscapes have stood the test of time. 

The convenience of Avoriaz for accessing the Portes du Soleil is unparalleled. And the resort itself buzzes with ambience.  It's a very safe and interesting environment for children, with lots of sledging areas, cafes, and the fantastic Aquariaz tropical swimming complex.

As a bonus, Avoriaz is one of several resorts within the Portes du Soleil Domain that is eligible for the AlpinExpress Pass. As part of the wider Montagne Verte initiative, the pass gives visitors arriving by train a plethora of in-resort discounts, including on restaurants, activities, and Portes du Soleil lift passes.

In the past few years, the resort has massively upgraded to provide a wide range of attractive, contemporary apartments. The Amara is a premium residence characterised by contemporary flexibility. Modelled on Intrawest’s Arcs 1950, it has the flexibility to offer self-catering, bed and breakfast or half-board packages, all of them with use of the spa and indoor pool. People love it!
