Lille stopover journeys to the Alps
Travel out to Lille the night before and then either take a direct TGV to the French Alps, or a combo of TGV and local TER train
Introduction
You can reach a number of ski resorts in the French Alps by Eurostar + TGV, changing train in Lille.
There are two ways of doing this:
1. Daytime journey via Lille.
2. Lille stopover journey
Daytime journeys via Lille
Doing it this way, you do all the travelling in one day. Your journey will almost certainly need one more change of train at Lyon Part Dieu, onto a local train bound for your resort. There is a wide array of French ski resorts that you can reach this way.

Le Paris Stopover - the film - imagine this but for Lille!
The relaxed journey and the stop in Lille give even more opportunity for making the journey part of the holiday. Lille has several hotels that are very close to the station, so that after a good nights sleep you can wake up refreshed, walk over to the station and be on your way (perhaps picking up freshly baked croissant from the bakery by the station or the cafes inside).
We created a two-minute film about a stopover journey that we did via Paris, with a bunch of friends. Biut the principle is the same: the group had fun on the way and sneaked an afternoon on the slopes once they arrived, as this film shows.
